Renovation Roller Coaster – What To Expect During Your Renovation

Anticipation
You have been dreaming of this renovation for years. You’ve been planning the details for months – collecting ideas and pictures, meeting with your builder and architectural designer, selecting your fixtures and finishings and submitting plans to council. The budget may have been a bit of a blow, but once you come to terms with that, you’re strapped in and ready to set off.
Fun
You watch with delight as previously inhabited spaces are demolished – rooms and walls disappear, or the excavator appears to carve out the foundations for an extension. The framing starts to go up, revealing the new spaces you will occupy in a few months’ time. At this stage, it’s all quick change and exciting transformations.

Just when you thought the ride was over, there is a surprise twist. Maybe your chosen tiles don’t arrive in time, or it takes forever for the benchtop to be manufactured. It’s frustrating to be this close to the end and face an issue, but your renovation team will get you back on track.
Elation
As work coasts to a stop, you’ll feel a mixture of joy and relief that it’s all over. You step into your newly renovated space and marvel at the difference. After the ups and downs of the renovation process, you can sit back, relax and enjoy the final product. In a couple of months, the renovation roller coaster will be forgotten – no matter how bumpy your ride was. You might even be thinking about hopping on again sometime.
